The Phone Box Project

A Showcase with a Difference – Small Spaces with BIG Impacts!

PHONE BOX shall open up the phone-box doors to host temporary art events in empty phone booths in 8 villages. Developed & presented by a consortium of 8 artists working in a range of disciplines. Beginning with workshops led by artists with identified community groups, the final events will create a positive, permanent impact on people who live near the booths, as well as provide a memorable experience for those that visit. The process leading up to the event is all part and parcel of the project, giving insight into creative thinking processes by working with community groups. This will be achieved through inclusive activities that encourage engagement, collaboration and placemaking.

Note: the term ‘art’ is used generically and can include any output that has creative intention – made by makers/performers/writers/musicians/sound artists/digital/film/gardeners etc.

Get in touch with the artists and get involved – we invite people to participate in walks, meetings and workshops – see below, look for a booth near you, and email the artist. Deadline mid-November – don’t miss out!
